What are Trade Sustainability Impact Assessments?

The objective of a TSIA is to assess how the trade and trade-related provisions of the trade agreement under negotiation could affect economic, social, environmental and developmental issues in the EU and in the country or region with which the agreement is being negotiated. More information about the TSIA Methodology is available here.

In 2007 ECORYS successfully implemented the TSIA of an FTA within an enhanced agreement between the EU and Ukraine. This study was completed at the end of 2007.  In addition, ECORYS was awarded the contracts for the TSIA studies of the FTA between the EU and India and the FTA between the EU and ASEAN. In December 2008 ECORYS was awarded for another TSIA, this time of an AA between the EU and Central America.
